10-17-09 Verona Eagles c-White win over Caldwell Jr Chiefs 12-0
 On Saturday The Verona Eagles C–White improved their record to 5 and 2 with a win over the Caldwell Jr. Chiefs 12-0. On defense Michael Johnson and Dean DiPaolo were able to hold up the running game giving David Motley a chance to create a fumble which was recovered by Zach Balogh on the first set of downs.  With Brian Hipp, Brandan Cariani , Matthew DiDia, PJ Jordan, Brendan Fleming, and Brendan Wallace on the line Thomas Sharkey was able to score on a 38 yard bootleg. Later in the game Thomas Sharkey was able to score on a 65 yard run. The offense pounded the Jr. Chiefs defense all day on the ground withNicholas Guliano, Thomas Kellner,and another 100 plus yard day by Matthew Frungillo. On Defense Patrick Haugney,Joseph Niler, Brandan Cariani,  Gus Caprari, Chris Campos, Brendan Erwin, and  Christopher Sabo seemed to create turnovers at will giving the Eagles their second shut out of the season.
10-13-09 Verona Eagles C-White suffers lost to East Hanover Hornets 19-8
 On Tuesday night the Verona Eagles C-White suffered their second loss. In the first half the Eagles seemed to be on their way to victory. With Brian Hipp, Brandan Cariani , Matthew DiDia, PJ Jordan, Brendan Fleming, and Brendan Wallace on the line the Eagles offense had no problem moving the ball. Thomas Sharkey threw several receptions and scored a touchdown on the ground and Matt Frungillo had a combined 128 yards running and receiving breaking the 1000 yard mark for the season. Nicholas Giuliano also added to the running assault. Mathew Frungillo also had a sack for a safety. At the end of the first half the Eagles were leading 8-6. On Defense Joseph Niler, Brandan Cariani, Michael Johnson, and Zachary Balogh each recorded several tackles. Gus Caprari, Chris Campos, Brendan Erwin, David Motley, Thomas Kellner, Christopher Sabo, and Dean DiPaolo held strong throughout the game as a defensive unit. It wasn’t until late in the game the Hornets were able to capitalize on a couple of turnovers and score two quick touchdowns ending the game 19-8.

10/11/09 VERONA EAGLES C WHITE SOARED TO VICTORY OVER MENDHAM BEARS

On Sunday 10/11/09 the Eagles defense set the tempo for the game with Christian Campos and Dean DiPaolo breaking up the first play of the game. Brian Hipp then had a sack for a 5 yard loss and Gareth Jenkins then had a tackle in the backfield for a 2 yard loss.  With exceptional play from PJ Jordan,  Brandan Cariani, Mathew DiDia, Brendan Fleming, and Brendan Wallace on the line the Eagles offense was able to attack immediately with Tom Sharkey running for a 65 yard touchdown.   Matthew Frungillo had an outstanding day with over 175 combined yards and 2 touchdowns including a double reverse from Sharkey to Nicholas Giuliano to Frungillo.  In the second half Chris Sabo also scored a touchdown on the ground. With Joseph Niler, Chris Campos, Michael Johnson, Gus Caprari, Brendan Erwin, David Motley, and Zachary  Balogh standing strong as a defensive unit helped the Eagles seal the victory 26-14.
 



10-3-09 Verona Eagles C-White suffers first lost to Nutley Raiders 13-19
On Saturday morning Verona Eagles C-White suffered their  first loss to the Nutley Raiders with a score of 13-19. Nutley dominated in the first half scoring 19 points. In the second halfVerona came alivewith Mathew Frungillo scoring on a double reverse from Thomas Sharkey to Thomas Kellner and then to Mathew Frungillo. Thomas Sharkey also set up a scoring drive with back to back 25+yard rushes resulting in a touchdown . Nicholas Guliano was able to capitalize on a tipped ball catching it for the extra point. Brian Hipp, Mathew DiDia , Pj Jordan, Brendan Fleming and Brendan Wallace all gave tremendous effort. Perhaps with a few more minutes on the clock the offense might have been able to pull this one out. The defense was led by PJ Jordan, Gus Caprari, and Brandan Cariani who sacked the Raiders quarterback and also had a fumble recovery which led to one on Veronas touchdowns.In the second half Chris Campos, Joseph Niler, Michael Johnson, Brendan Erwin, David Motley and Zachary Balogh, were able to shut down the Raiders running game with help from Thomas Kellner, Christopher Sabo, and Dean DiPaolo lending a hand. 

9-26-09 VERONA EAGLES C WHITE BEATS FAIRFIELD FALCONS 26-0
 
The Verona Eagles C White beat Fairfield Falcons 26-0 improving their record to 3-0. With Brian Hipp, Brandon Cariani, Brendan Erwin, Mathew DiDia, PJ Jordan, Brendan Fleming and Brendan Wallace securing the line. Thomas Sharkey was able to score twice including a 67 yd touchdown run. Matthew Frungillo had another 100 plus yard day including a 26 yard touchdown drive. Nicholas Giuliano also had a 31 yard touchdown run. The defensive front led by Zachary Balogh, Christian Campos, Joseph Niler, Michael Johnson, Gus Caprari , Gareth Jenkins and David Motley battered the Falcons offense all morning long. Any Passing attempts by the Falcons were shut down by Christopher Sabo, Thomas Kellner and Dean DiPaolo.   A fumble recovery by David Motley in the second half secured the win..  
 

9-21-09 - VERONA EAGLES C WHITE BEATS CEDAR GROVE 30-6
 
The Verona Eagles C White beat Cedar Grove 30 -6 improving their record 2-0. Jordan, Fleming , Wallace, and Cariani secured the Offensive line. A fumble recovery by Kelner set up a 60+yd td reception by Frungillo who scored twice on receptions from Sharkey . Giuliano and Sharkey also scored touchdowns.   The defensive line led by Caprari, Haughney, DiDia, Balogh and Campos shut down the running threat while Sabo and DiPaolo secured the secondary. The game ended on a touchdown saving open field tackle by Hipp.


9-13-09 - Verona C-split White Win 26-6 beating Livingston.
 
Tom Sharkey hit Matthew Frungillo for a 30 yard TD on the first series of the game. Pat Haughney caught the two point conversion for the Eagles. The next score saw Thomas Kellner run 60 yards for a TD. Nick Giuliano grabbed the extra point in the end zone. Matthew Frungillo then took a double reverse ( Sharkey to Kellner to Frungillo ) for the TD. Defense was led by Cariani, Jorden, Erwin and Motley.
